An ambitious pastry chef returns to her small-town roots in Door County, WI, and, over the holidays, needs to decide between her career dreams and her family’s struggling orchard business.

Freedom is a short-lived 2000 American science fiction television show on the UPN network. There were 12 episodes filmed but only 7 were aired in the US. Some episodes were further aired internationally, and the full series is still occasionally broadcast in Brazil.

"Freedom" is a leftist pamphlet on the immodest charm of the bourgeoisie, made with a love of irony and the excessively free spirit of humanity. This is an auteur film, if only because the author himself periodically appears on screen throughout the story, narrating it to the viewer.

Freedom (inspired by Dostoevsky’s Crime and Punishment) is set in contemporary Johannesburg against the #FeesMustFall student movement. It explores the paradoxical, often limited, notion of "freedom" for born-free South African youth, focusing on the harsh realities of post-apartheid life.
